Anaheim PD Asks Public to Continue to Help Find Kidnapped Boys

Abraham Fernandez - if you know his whereabouts, please call 911 immediately

Anaheim police continue their search today for four-year-old Jacob and two-year-old Justin Quinones, who were abducted from their Anaheim home on Thursday night. Their Texas-resident father and grandfather are accused of coming to California to kidnap them. An Amber Alert remains in effect as law enforcement officers throughout the nation continue to search for all four people.

On Friday, Anaheim Police publicly warned their family, friends and associates against harboring or assisting them in any manner. Since the incident occurred on Thursday night, Anaheim Police investigators have been working around-the-clock to gather leads, locate the individuals and try to bring resolution to this case. Police say that both men may have altered their appearance in an effort to elude capture.

Louis Fernadez

Detectives believe that after abducting the children, Abraham and Louis Fernandez remained in Southern California, hiding from authorities. Early Sunday morning, Investigators arrested DAVID NICHOLAS at his Monrovia home for his role in aiding the suspects. The 26 year-old NICHOLAS was booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility for conspiracy in the kidnapping case. His bail has been set at one million dollars. (At this stage of the investigation, police say they will not be releasing any additional information about Mr. Nicholas’ role in this case).

Anaheim Police urge Abraham and Louis to safely turn the boys over to law enforcement officers, and to contact Anaheim Detectives to bring this case to resolution.

Jacob and Justin Quinones were kidnapped on Thursday, police say.

OVERVIEW OF CASE: On October 7, 2010 at approximately 7:50 PM, Jacob & Justin Quinones were in the driveway of their apartment complex as their mother walked to a trash bin nearby to throw away trash. A grey van drove up to the residence in the 3300 block of west Orange Avenue in Anaheim. Two men got out of the car, grabbed the boys and drove away. Originally believed the abductors to be strangers, detectives later discovered that the men in the van were the father and grandfather of the boys. An Amber Alert was activated seeking to locate the boys, suspects and vehicle. On 10-8-10, the van was located at a car rental company when the vehicle was returned. The suspects and boys remain outstanding.

Anybody who sees the suspects is urged to call 911 immediately. Anybody with other information about the case can contact Det. Daron Wyatt at (714) 765-1900.
