APD’s Arrest of Mass Killer Makes OC Register’s Top Cases

Did you know that Orange County’s most notorious mass murderer was arrested by Anaheim PD shortly after the killing spree?

Edward Charles Allaway calmly walked through the student library at Cal State Fullerton on July 12, 1976 before shooting nine people. APD officers arrested him a short time later at a local restaurant.

Orange County Register’s legendary courthouse reporter, Larry Welborn, is featuring the “50 most notorious crimes in Orange County history” on the newspaper’s Web site. The Allaway case was featured Sunday.
