Cops for Kids ‘Jail and Bail’ Nets More than $10,000

Police officers and community members combined to raise more than $10,000 for the Cops for Kids program at this week’s “Jail and Bail” fund-raiser, officials announced today.

Held at Ember Cafe and Restaurant on Anaheim Boulevard, the event featured a fund-raising contest where officers asked donors to help them “post bail.”

Family crimes Det. Laura Lomeli, who raised $1,400. Community donor Pat Pina, President of Anaheim Beautiful, raised $1,000.

Cops for Kids aims to create positive relationships between children, police and the community. It accomplishes the goal through a variety of cultural, educational and recreational activities, such as a recent program introducing kids to the horses that comprise APD’s Mounted Unit.
